Project Overview
Kapıdağ Wind Farm is located in the northwest of the Kapıdağ Peninsula in Balıkesir's Erdek district, directly across from Marmara Island. The project area, like the rest of the Kapıdağ Peninsula, is surrounded by forests and olive groves. The plant supports the economic and environmental sustainability goals of the Kapıdağ Peninsula and Erdek district with its close proximity.
Energy Output
Kapıdağ Wind Farm has an installed capacity of 42.4 MWh. With this capacity, the plant meets the electricity consumption needs of approximately 44,000 households.
Environmental Impact
Thanks to the Kapıdağ Wind Farm, the world saves 282.6 million litres of water annually. Additionally, the plant eliminates 97,500 tons of carbon emissions each year, which would otherwise be produced by fossil fuel-based power plants.
Turbines
Kapıdağ Wind Farm consists of 14 Vestas V80 2.0 MW wind turbines and 4 Vestas V136 3.6 MW wind turbines.
