Project Overview
The Uludere Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in the Uludere district of Şırnak, within the region’s rugged and mountainous terrain. The plant is situated at the foothills of Cudi and Gabar Mountains, in an area where water sources gain elevation, and it generates electricity by harnessing the energy potential of the flowing water. The surrounding landscape is covered with a natural vista, stretching from the rocky steppes of Mesopotamia to the mountainous areas.
Energy Output
The Uludere Hydroelectric Power Plant has an installed capacity of 0.69 MWh. With this capacity, the plant is capable of meeting the electricity consumption needs of approximately 1,000 households.
Environmental Impact
The Uludere Hydroelectric Power Plant eliminates 2,000 tons of carbon emissions annually, which would otherwise be produced by fossil fuel-based power plants.
