Project Overview
Şirvan Hydroelectric Power Plant is located in the Şirvan district of Siirt province. The plant represents an area shaped by the rugged and mountainous geography of the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Şirvan district is rich in water resources, with streams and rivers flowing from the foothills of mountains. Due to the steep elevation differences in the narrow valleys of the region, it has been established in an area advantageous for energy production.
Energy Output
Şirvan Hydroelectric Power Plant has an installed capacity of 31.4 MWh. With this capacity, the plant meets the electricity consumption needs of approximately 33,000 households in Siirt.
Environmental Impact
Şirvan Hydroelectric Power Plant eliminates 72,000 tons of carbon emissions each year, which would otherwise be produced by fossil fuel-based power plants.
